Howard Murad, M.D., FAAD has literally changed the face of skincare by devoting his life to making beautiful, healthy skin attainable for everyone. Largely considered to be a leading visionary in the fields of skincare and dermatology, Dr. Murad has received numerous recognitions including being named the "Best Forward-Thinking Doctor" by Vogue Magazine, a "Beauty Genius" by Elle Magazine, an "Industry Visionary" by the International SPA Association, and was inducted into Dermascope magazine's "Academy of Legends". One Man's Personal Journey From Humble Beginnings to Global Success Dr. Murad grew up in Queens, New York. After earning his degree at The Arnold and Marie Schwartz College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, he attended the University of California at Irvine Medical School. He completed his rotating internship at New York's Queens Hospital. In 1967, Dr. Murad joined the U.S. military as a General Medical Officer for the United States Army, where he received a Bronze Star for his service as a battalion surgeon in Vietnam. From 1969 to 1972, he completed his dermatology residency at the Veteran's Administration Hospital at UCLA. Newly minted as a dermatologist, Dr. Murad opened his first practice in Westchester, California in 1972. Starting out with two rooms, a nurse and one patient during his first week in business, he dedicated himself to building his practice, person by person. By the time he moved his offices to their existing location in the Southern California community of El Segundo in 1995, Dr. Murad had built a patient base of nearly 50,000. Today, despite tremendous global success with his products, books and treatment formulas, Dr. Murad remains devoted to his practice and helping his patients through practical application of Inclusive Health and the Science of Cellular Water.
